Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2010 season.

We hope you enjoy all the activities on offer this season. We are extremely excited to be launching the very new Filmnight at the Limelight. As well as showing some cracking films, we have a licensed bar and have linked up with Aylesbury’s very popular Coffee Tree who will be providing snacks and home made cakes to make the evenings even more tempting. As well as regular Blues, Jazz and Folk nights - including a visit by James Hickmand and Dan Cassidy - there’s also some classical music with Annett Busse, songs from musicals, as well as a Soul/Funk/Disco night and Indian music and dancing. This season there’s some excellent theatre from Hull Truck, the hugely successful play ‘Art’ by Yazmena Reza, and a lighthearted comedy by Philip Aycbourn, to name just a few highlights.

We’ve got some fantastic new courses lined up for you this year. Places are limited so do book early.

There are a variety of exhibitions by up and coming artists over the next few months and many opportunities to buy artworks, jewellery, accessories etc at affordable prices.

We hope you will join us at the Centre’s Open Day on Sat 8 May. Entrance is free and there will be a host of Arts and Crafts activities for you to enjoy, including ‘have-a-go’ sessions for children and adults, with refreshments throughout the day.

As you may know, in 2009 we purchased the freehold to secure the long-term future of the Centre. We’re now working hard to raise over £500, 000 to improve the facilities and equipment. Please do support our fundraising events this season. If you’re interested in organising your own fundraiser, or joining the comittee please do let me know.

Finally, we are building up a list of volunteers with special skills who would be willing on occassion to offer their services, such as tree surgeons, lawyers, plumbers, etc. We’re also looking for volunteer tutors in arts and craft. If you have a particular skill and would be willing to share it with us please do let me know.
